Following a successful trial of the driver’s eye camera angle in Formula 1, it has been announced that between six and eight drivers will be equipped with helmet cameras during each race weekend.

This new technology offers TV viewers an immersive experience by providing a realistic view of the track from inside the cockpit, enabling them to witness what drivers see as they compete in Formula 1 races.
The upcoming F1 2023 season is expected to feature several improvements in the sport’s broadcasts. One of these enhancements includes adding microphones to the cars themselves.
By installing microphones directly into the cars, the audio mixing for viewers at home could be accentuated. This would help to translate the feeling of being at the track into people’s living rooms, offering a more immersive experience for those watching the races from home.

This measure is being explored as a potential way to increase viewership and engagement with the sport. It is hoped that by providing viewers with a more realistic and exciting experience, more people will be drawn to watch and support Formula 1 racing.
