In recent years, Formula 1 (F1) has become popular in India. With the rise of talented drivers like Narain Karthikeyan and the addition of the Indian Grand Prix to the F1 calendar in 2011, more and more Indian fans have been tuning in to catch the races.
However, this year in 2023, fans from India have faced many issues with F1 TV, the official streaming service of Formula 1. In particular, hundreds of fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration at being unable to find the F1 TV app on their Android TV.
. @F1 u have launched your app& subscription in india But your app is not available on Android tvs. How do we watch races on the big screen?U expect us to pay 3k but no tv app to see it.

Also @DisneyPlusHS why have you not renewed the contact?no ipl no f1. Why wl i subscribe?
@F1 @fia #formula1tv seriously needs an android television app for #India – Only option right now to watch on tv is to Cast via the #F1TVMobileApp and that is riddled with lags. Urgently need this improvement in the viewing experience.

Many fans have reported that the app does not appear in the search results when they search for F1 TV on their Android TV. Others have said that they have been able to download the app, but when they try to open it, it crashes or does not work properly.
This has left many fans feeling disappointed and let down by F1 TV.
Hi @F1 you have launched subscription plans for india that is great news, but how are we supposed to watch it on the bigger screen when the app is not available on android TV’s. You have a huge fan following here, we love the sport and hope it will be resolved soon. #F1Testing

Several fans have raised concerns over the pricing of F1 TV, stating that it is too high for what it offers. Fans have suggested that the service should provide more value for money, such as additional content or a better streaming experience.
What kind of pricing is this?? @F1 @DisneyPlusHS didnt take the broadcasting rights this year. @JioCinema was trying but i guess even they didnt get it. So NO F1 in india, or pay this huge amount for the F1 TV Pass. Very bad news for the F1 fans of india. pic.twitter.com/Bt8kaIqNoU

First of all, slow claps for @F1, they don’t have F1 TV app for Android TV in India. Disappointing. Was just subscribing to F1 TV Pro from mobile app, selected yearly subscription but saw this payment screen & stopped, it’s showing the yearly fee as weekly.@F1Media @GooglePlay pic.twitter.com/6gIUJYJubd

Many fans have also called for F1 TV to provide a 4K experience with surround sound. With technological advancements, fans believe that the service should keep up with the latest trends to enhance the viewing experience. However, the current lack of this feature has left many fans disappointed.

Furthermore, another issue that numerous fans have raised is the problem of lagging. Fans have reported that the service frequently lags, frustrating viewers who want to enjoy the race in real time.
Not very impressed with F1 TV Pro on Android TV in India, they expect us to pay 2.5k annually and can’t even provide a 4K HDR stream with surround sound? 1080p in Stereo is not enough in 2023! Well atleast it’s in 50fps

Indian users faced problems in purchase, processing, login, lags, buggy app, no app for Android TVs, logouts or Purchase no reflecting after payment.
After they just launched it in India this year for a 3x price were enjoying F1 before on Disney+OTT
As the Indian market is important for Formula 1, these concerns must be addressed promptly. Fans expect a high-quality viewing experience, and F1 TV must provide them with just that. With the current issues, it remains to be seen how F1 TV plans to address these concerns and regain the trust of Indian fans.
