Roberto Martinez has replaced Fernando Santos as the team’s manager and has included Ronaldo in his first squad. Martinez praised Ronaldo’s importance to the team and said: “He doesn’t consider his age.”
Ronaldo, who holds the record for scoring the most men’s goals for Portugal, left Manchester United in November after a controversial interview in which he criticized the club. He later joined Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia on a free transfer in January.

Roberto Martinez explains Cristiano Ronaldo’s selection in Portugal’s squad
After their exit from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Fernando Santos parted ways with A Selecao, and in January, Roberto Martinez was announced as their new head coach.
