Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has responded to concerns raised over the quality of Hindi commentary during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
A cricket fan recently pointed out that Hindi commentary used to be more insightful when legends like Maninder Singh and Arun Lal were behind the mic. In contrast, the current panel—featuring Virender Sehwag, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Robin Uthappa, and Ambati Rayudu—leans more on sarcasm and witty one-liners, making it harder for viewers to stay fully engaged with the game.
Harbhajan Singh, who is part of the Hindi commentary team, took the feedback sportingly and responded on social media, saying, “Thank you for the input. We will work on it.”
The 2025 IPL Hindi commentary panel also includes Mohammad Kaif, Piyush Chawla, RP Singh, Pragyan Ojha, Sanjay Manjrekar, Sanjay Bangar, Varun Aaron, Sunil Gavaskar, Ajay Jadeja, Jatin Sapru, Anant Tyagi, Saba Karim, Deep Dasgupta, and Aakash Chopra.
Meanwhile, IPL 2025 has kicked off in explosive fashion, with a staggering 119 sixes smashed in just the first five matches.
In the latest clash at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, Punjab Kings (PBKS) edged past Gujarat Titans (GT) by 11 runs, successfully defending their massive total of 243/5. Skipper Shreyas Iyer led Punjab’s aggressive batting display, while head coach Ricky Ponting’s sharp tactics ensured Gujarat’s chase, led by Shubman Gill, fell just short.
Next up, the IPL action moves to Guwahati, where Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), led by Ajinkya Rahane, will take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Barsapara Stadium on Wednesday.
